Please ensure that you read the terms and conditions of enrolment before submitting a registration form. “Academy” means Street Beat Dance Academy. “Teacher” refers to those employed by Street Beat Dance Academy and those who are freelance who are contracted to deliver classes for Street Beat Dance Academy.
Fees may be paid on a weekly or monthly basis. Discounts will be offered for students attending multiple classes.
Monthly payment offers are only available during the first week of the month in advance. Monthly payments will not be accepted after the first week of the month. Monthly payments must be made in an envelope with a payment slip. Should you know that you are not able to attend a class during that month then you may discount that class off of the slip in advance (at the discounted rate). However, should you pay for the month in advance and fail to attend a class for any reason no refund will be given nor can this class be carried over to the next month. There will be no reduction in fees for lessons missed by the pupil.
Unlimited payment allows the student to attend any Academy class at any location throughout that month. Conditions of the offer is that the unlimited payment fee must be paid for the whole month (it is not a weekly option). This is available for the Urban Academy, Theatre Arts or both.
We operate a payment scheme which is the same every month and averages out over 50 weeks to incorporate our 2 week long christmas shutdown.
Fees will be reviewed annually.
On the rare occasion that the teacher is unavailable to give any scheduled lesson, and a supply teacher cannot be arranged, the lesson will be carried forward to another date. If this is not possible, any fee already paid will be refunded except in cases of unlimited payment.
The Academy cannot undertake any responsibility for any money or articles left behind after classes or performances.
There is no set uniform for class although, Jeans, skirts and tight trousers are prohibited. Baggy clothing is encouraged. Footwear should be trainers/pumps. No sandals, shoes or boots. Students shouldn’t be attending lessons dancing in socks without appropriate trainers. Spongy Knee pads are essential for each class. This is for the students health and safety and we accept no blame for injury that otherwise could have been avoided with the use of knee pads. We recommend the brand Rukanor.
Should you be invited to join the Performance Troupe then you must purchase the Troupe Uniform and attend the additional Troupe lessons. Attendance will be monitored and should you fail to attend the lessons or do not take part in the performances then your place may be offered to someone else.
Mobile phones are forbidden during any Street Beat lesson. Street Beat doesn’t take any responsibility for phones or tablets that are lost, stolen or damaged. Should a student need to use their phone in case of emergency, they should ask a teacher in the class for permission.
Music may not be censored in classes with a minimum age restriction of 13yrs plus, therefore due to the nature of Hip-Hop music, there may be foul language within the tracks played in class time. This relates to both students in the class and students waiting for the next class who may be present in the room
Pupils are expected to conduct themselves in a disciplined manner whilst attending classes and be respectful to both Teachers and fellow pupils at all times. This will ensure the safety and well being of everyone.
Mobile phones must be turned off or switched to silent if brought in to class and only used with permission.
Parents should be aware that physical contact maybe necessary by the Teacher and fellow pupils when training dancers.
A non-fizzy drink may be brought to lesson to drink during their break.
No food should be brought to lessons.
Students should be punctual to lessons and may be refused entry should they turn up late for a lesson if the Teacher feels that this will disrupt the lesson. The Academy is only responsible for the safety of your child during lesson times. You must ensure that you stay with your child until your child registers with the Teacher and that you are there to collect your child at the end of the lesson time.
Photography & Videoing
Pupils may be photographed or filmed during class and performances. This may be used for promotional purposes by the Academy including placing these on the internet. By accepting these Terms and Conditions you are agreeing to this happening, unless you inform the school in writing.
When attending classes you will be asked for an emergency contact number. This is also the case when you sign up to our newsletter. Should any information that you give to us change (Contact Number, Address, Medical History etc.) then we request that you contact us and let us know so we can keep an up to date log on our students wellbeing. Should you wish to take part in our annual shows then costumes must be purchased. A non-refundable deposit will be required to hold your place and this will be deducted off of the cost of the costumes. Any outstanding balance must be paid prior to receiving your costumes. A consent form must be downloaded from the website and handed in with the deposit.
The dress rehearsal is mandatory and any child wishing to take part in the show must attend the dress rehearsal. Failure to attend the dress rehearsal will result in you being withdrawn from the show and no refund will be given for costumes purchased.
